Michelle van de Braak started her cellolessons with Yke Viersen and Saskia Boon.
As a student at the Conservatoire (Enschede and Amsterdam) she studied with Robert Dispa and Dimitri Ferschtman.
She started teaching when still a student and has continued to do so ever since. As a result she has ample experience in teaching all levels and ages.
During the lessons there is off course full attention for the technical aspect of mastering the cello, but also for the development of all other musical aspects, like phrasing and interpretation of the character of the piece one plays.
Chamber music and general ensemble playing always has been of major importance to Michelle. Currently she is a member of Arcobaleno Piano Quartet. As Duo Divertimento she plays with violin/viola player Maaike ten Wolde at party's, dinners and other festivities.
Every year Michelle organises, together with Maaike ten Wolde, a extensive project in ensemble playing where string players of all ages can participate. During this project pupils are organised in various groups, from trio to orchestra. During 7 weeks they get special ensemble lessons, next to their normal ones. A big concert marks the end of the project.
